Investigating Options for Increased Involvement in Community Disaster Preparedness, Response and Recovery Roles among Public Libraries and Librarians: Massachusetts Outreach Pilot
Assessment | Design | Delivery
A Directed Fieldwork with the National Library of Medicine Disaster Information Management Research Center & the National Network of Libraries of Medicine
This fieldwork starts with an assessment of the Massachusetts' public libraries' awareness of the resources and information available through the National Library of Medicine and the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, New England Region. Surveys and interviews will also illustrate the preparedness planning and training status of the libraries.
It progresses to identification and design of a training strategy for enhancing access to and use of tools and resources available through the National Library of Medicine Disaster Information Management Research Center. This strategy can include various outreach methods such as training modules, videos, and summits.
Finally, the fieldwork concludes with a delivery of the training strategy. A summary report will include an evaluation of how the delivery was received, as well as recommendations for revisions and future actions.
I've created a blog to journal the fieldwork process:
